At any given moment, there are plenty of ways our time can be cut short. If you think about it, the only time we're ever guaranteed is right now. With that in consideration, you might say that right now is always going to be the most important point in your life.

It is important to keep in mind future plans and goals, but we don't have to have everything figured out just yet. There may very well be a time and place to fight those battles, but often there's quite enough to fight right now in this moment.

In any given moment, we just need to make a decision about what to do next. We might make that decision based on long-term goals (i.e., "What can I do right now that would bring me closer to my future goals?"), or we might make it based off of more immediate things of inherent value (or both!).

The point is, as Gandalf was reminding Frodo, we are each given a certain time, a certain place, and a certain situation. This moment has been handed to us - now what are we going to do with it?
